Mark Lindquist showcases several motion blur images from
Gadsden County, Florida in a short movie called "Around
Town". Many of Lindquist's motion blur images done in
his home town of Quincy are taken from a moving car.
Shot with a Nikon D810 and Canon 5DsR, various lenses
and accessories are employed to capture the moving
images as the car is speeding by. Lindquist uses a Kirk
window mount and Kirk ballhead to help in securing the
camera which aids in stabilizing the long 600 mm lens
used in some of the photos. The final images are edited
primarily in Photoshop CC 2015 and Lightroom, with
occasional Nic software added in. Widely known for his
work in wood as a sculptor, Mark Lindquist has been
photographing concurrently since the late 60's.

Mark Lindquist, sculptor,
photographer, designer and Motion Blur Artist, creates
images through motion control camera systems and manual
means. This short video juxtaposes Lindquist’s process
of creating the abstracts and equipment against a
tranquil backdrop of nature.
Motion blur photography is accomplished by several
means, namely panning and light trailing. Lindquist uses
unconventional methods and equipment to create his
motion blur photography, which reflects over 10 years of
research and development of his processes. Creating
motion blur manually is Lindquist’s anchor process using
handheld Nikon and Canon cameras and lenses. The
robotically created work is experimental, and evolving,
based on remote control systems Lindquist began building
in the late 70's for his woodworking and sculpture
studios.
Intermingling images from both styles (panning and
trails) and robotic techniques affords Lindquist a
multi-dimensional platform from which to work.
